lost in the sky rafters
school is more or less whooping my ass and playing catchup is never fun. But all I can do is rock out and that's okay. Speaking of rocking out were playing 7 black cats on friday and then at the Jewish Community Center on saturday. I dont know what that will be like but I hope they give out free circumcisions with admission price.
I could always use another one. blah

Im killin 2 hours before my last class so this might tend to ramble a bit but I dont care cause this is for me and not you....

i actually dont have much to say so im going to leave.

oh one last thing..

fuck you

A Question For You...

I'm from Baltimore, living here right now, but I wanted to get the hell outta here sometime in January. I was thinking of heading to Tucson, but I was wondering if someone could give me some insight on clubs and venues/movie theatres/good area of town, etc.
How is the punk/indie scene in Tucson? Are most clubs 21+? What is there to do? Are there are neighbourhoods that have a centralised art flavour, like near the University? Or not....
I'm just trying to figure out what there is for an 18 year old to do, who's never been to AZ before
And do you know how much rent typically is, or any good places to look for an apartment? I'm hoping to spend no more than 400 a month for a 1 bedroom/studio apartment.

Sorry this is so random by the way - I was looking for people who seemed like they would know, and you just happened to be that person, based on musical tastes and whatnot. Thanks for any help you could give me.

Hey man,
Tucson can be off and on but ther is definately a scene for the artistically inclined. Most of it is over 21 but there is definately a lot to do if youre not of age. There is a venue down here called Skrappys that is always all ages and most bands that come play there. Sometimes bars open for all ages if the show is going to be big i.e. Cursive/Appleseed cast. There is also a culture on teh outskirts of downtown around 4th ave. Thrift stores, art gallerys, as well as artsy cineplexes. THere are also some great coffee houses such as the safehouse which all the underage scensters hang out.

Rent is definately in your rangs from 350-450 for a one bedroom and its also easy to find a place that has roomies who are looking to fill a room for cheaper. TUcsons not too small but small enough that there is an enclosed scene (of course compared to the east coast youll find nothing really similar out here). I think its a good spot but take a look around and check it out.

if youre interested you can see a little bit at skrappys website (www.skrappys.com) at what shows are comming through and theres a message board to talk to people who are involved.

If you have any more questions please feel free to ask.
Take Care
